Winter Opening

On Monday, October 11, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) inaugurated the 2021/22 season with the Winter Opening event held at the La Pista location in downtown Arese. In the presence of President Flavio Roda and top FISI officials, 15 teams and about 200 athletes from the Italian national team in the various disciplines were the stars of the event and kicked off the Federation's Winter Tour. The event was an opportunity for athletes, sponsors, journalists and stakeholders to exchange views ahead of the Ski World Cup and Olympic efforts. The Opening was presented by Paola di Benedetto and featured Noemi as musical guest. Several Italian champions such as Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Federico Pellegrino, Dominik Paris, Roland Fischnaller, Marta Bassino and Aaron March also spoke. One of the most exciting moments of the event was the preview presentation of the new competition suits for the upcoming season, a sample of which was given to Valentina Vezzali, Italian fencing legend and undersecretary of state in the Prime Minister's Office with responsibility for sports.
